How to Clear Web Browser Cache & Cookies
WARNING!
- Clearing cache & cookies might cause you to have to log back into websites.
- Make sure you know your login credentials such as usernames and passwords before you continue.
Occasionally web browsers have issues accessing information or a particular page does not load correctly or options and links on that web page do not work.
Google Chrome
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right of browser, click the "Menu" button (3 vertical dots)
- Click Delete browsing data...
- At the top, choose a time range. (To delete everything, select 'All time')
- Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
- Click 'Clear data'.
Mozilla Firefox
- Click the "Menu" button (3 horizontal bars) and choose 'Options'.
- Select the "Privacy & Security" panel.
- In the "Cookies and Site Data" section, click 'Clear Data'
- Remove the check mark in front of "Cookies and Site Data".
- With "Cached Web Content" checked, click the 'Clear' button.
- Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.
Internet Explorer
- Open Internet Explorer 11
- Click the Settings icon (top right corner) and click Safety
- Click Delete browsing history
- Check the Temporary Internet files and website files option
- Click Delete
- A confirmation message should appear.
Apple Safari
- Click Safari
- Click Preferences
- Select Privacy, then click Manage Website Data
- Select Remove All, then Remove Now.
- Click Safari
- Click Preferences
- In the Preferences window, click the Advanced tab and make sure the checkbox next to "Show Develop menu in menu bar" is selected.
- Select Develop in the menu bar at the top of the screen and click Empty Caches.
