Using Verity Lockdown App

Download the App: If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, please visit this link: Downloading the Verity Lockdown App.

Install and Open the Verity Lockdown App: Once installed, the Verity Lockdown app will look like your regular internet browser.
Make sure to go to https://blackboard.ndus.edu (copy and paste this link to your Verity Lockdown app).

Sign In: Log in as usual, navigate to your course, open the proctored assessment and start your assessment.
Once you start your assessment, you will be prompted to set up your proctoring session. Please follow these steps:

Agreement:Check the 'I understand the information provided above.' box, then click Next.

System Check: Let the system run its checks. If you're seeing a display error, try unplugging any additional monitors to proceed. This requirement may have been set by your instructor. Click Next.

Recording Permissions: If asked, click Allow to give permission for the app to use your microphone, camera, and enable screen recording. Once completed, click Next.

Mac Users - Screen Setup Error:
If you encounter an error during "Setting up Your Screen," follow the steps in this link: How to Enable Screen Recording for YuJa Verity on MacOS.

Room Scan: Click Room Scan and follow the instructions to record your room. When finished, click Next.

ID Check:ID Verification: Hold your ID up to the camera and click Take Photo, then click Next. Student Verification: Scroll down, take a photo of yourself, and click Next.
Review both photos and retake them if needed. Once satisfied, click Upload and then Next.

Proctoring Restrictions: The system will display a list of restrictions based on your instructor’s settings. Once you’ve reviewed them, click Done to start your test.
Tip: After setting things up and just before you start your assessment, click the minimize icon to avoid accidentally clicking 'End Proctoring' too soon!
