Follow these core checks to catch the most common accessibility issues before publishing.
Headings
Use proper heading levels in sequential order.

Good: H1 → H2 → H3. Check structure in the Navigation Pane.

Bad: Jumping from H1 to H4 or reusing H2 for unrelated sections.
Alt Text
Provide clear, meaningful descriptions for every image.

Good: Alt text: “Bar chart showing quarterly sales increasing from Q1 to Q4.”

Bad: Alt text: “Chart” or leaving it blank.
Color and Contrast
Ensure text and background combinations meet contrast standards, and never rely on color alone to convey information.

Good: Use bold or icons in addition to red/green to indicate status.

Bad: “Fields in red are required” without another indicator.
Links
Write link text that clearly conveys the destination or action.
